Automotive Engine Remanufacturing - Disassembly & Repair
No Experience Necessary!
Starting Pay: $18.04/hour and up to $19.54/hour potential (with earned MONTHLY bonuses)
Schedule: 1st SHIFT ONLY!
Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4:30 pm (10 hours)
Some Friday work as needed
NO SATURDAYS! NO SUNDAYS!
Job Description:
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking candidates interested in Engine Disassembly and Repair and we’ll provide all the training you need to succeed! LKQ Corporation is the leading provider of alternative and specialty parts to repair and accessorize automobiles and other vehicles. At LKQ Reman Springfield, we specialize in the remanufacturing of automotive engines.
Duties may include the following responsibilities within an assigned cell: operation by systems and procedures within the cell and to health and safety requirements, handling of material and waste between processes, quality of own work/product, daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance within the cell, participation in daily cell meetings and continuous improvement activities, participation in cell design and controls, support the cell leader in maintenance of documentation, filling in for cell leader when necessary, and cross-training within the cell.
Provide quality products.
Duties may include but are not limited to performing various disassembly and repair operations on a variety of parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies and setting up and operating complex machines.
Operations may include but are not limited to washing, cleaning, checking, inspecting, material handling, repairing, gaging parts, magnafluxing, (steel and zinc) shot blasting, tumbling, and prepping.
This position may perform other duties as assigned or fill in for others in the department or other departments as needed or requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding duties.

Requirements:
No engine experience required! We provide the training.
Education & Experience:
Ability to read and write. This is verified through the employment process.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Basic math skills. May use various hand held tools, pneumatic and electric tools, hoists, measuring devices, machinery, forklift, welding and/or magnaflux equipment, pallet jacks, and various washers. No previous experience required. We provide the training.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Requires continuous physical effort; short work cycles; repetitive motion work. Standing 80%, walking 20%. Lifts, pushes, pulls an average of 80+ lb. occasionally, 40 lb. frequently, and 20 lb. constantly. Exposures to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, varying temperature extremes. Exposure to noise, various chemicals, and waste products.
